Person-to-person verification
Illustrative words. Not a real identity check.
How it works
Make checking a shared habit.
- 01
1. Add someone you know
Pair in advance. Open MuteThis separately. Compare four fresh words together.
- 02
2. Request a check
Choose a saved contact and tap Request a check. Your contact approves in MuteThis. If they enabled notifications, MuteThis sends an alert. Otherwise, ask them to open the app. Delivery can be delayed.
- 03
3. Approve, then compare
Your contact approves in MuteThis only if they expect your check. Ask them to read their four words first and compare with your screen. Tap whether they match. Approval alone never completes a check.
What a check can—and cannot—tell you
A completed check means the paired contact’s account approved it and the requester reported matching words. Approval may use a passkey or password. This does not prove legal identity or that a payment or request is safe.
